Membership of the World Energy Council
Our whole-systems global energy community lies at the heart of the Council, connecting over 3,000 energy organisations and Member Committees in nearly 100 countries. Our community platform of energy leaders and experts drive impact and help navigate the broad and fast-moving landscape of energy transition.
“One of the most valuable insights our members here in Mexico have gained is a deep understanding of potential new energy business models that might work for our country in the future. The Trilemma and Scenarios tools were integral to this process and allowed us to clearly see the implications for each model. Discussions are of course ongoing as our members continue to work together to look at the way forward and prepare for the global and local transition.”
“Being able to meet with the who’s who of the energy world in one place really enables our members to make the vital connections to start pushing forward their ideas and strategies. The World Energy Congress is an experience in itself; the real benefits start to show afterwards as the working relationships crystallise and ideas turn into action.”
National Member Committees work closely with their neighbouring countries to facilitate cross-border partnerships. These regional networks foster an exchange of knowledge and experiences to ensure governments, companies and stakeholders have a neutral forum to plan and engage in the challenges that increasingly need some degree of regional integration or cooperation.
Regional networks also undertake studies and organise events covering priorities for that part of the world, and to guide policy and technical understanding. They are led by a regional Vice-Chair and supported by a Regional Manager.
