Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons & Energy

The Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons & Energy (CBHE), a non-profit national institution, is composed of more than 100 associated companies in the hydrocarbon, energy, and service & supply sectors. CBHE’s mission is to promote and strengthen the development of Bolivia’s industrial energy in a sustainable and socially responsible way.The World Energy Council Bolivian Member Committee formed in July 2011 and in view of the work developed in this Committee in the energy sector, as an important part of it we included two other members, the BOCIER (Bolivian Committee of Regional Energy Integration Committee) and the Ministry of Hydrocarbons & Energy.

Claudia Cronenbold is the Chair of the Board of the Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons & Energy, is the first woman to lead this important institution. From 2011 to 2014 she held the position of General Manager of a transportation company, Transierra, responsible for delivering nearby 60% of the Bolivian gas production to Brazil. In this period she issued one of the biggest bonus emissions (US$ 135 million) in the Bolivian Trade market and the company also doubled its compressions capacity. From 2009 to 2011 she was the Corporate Director in Petrobras Colombia responsible for the Strategic Planning, portfolio decisions and all the back offices functions of the firm. In this period she faced a strategic refocus restructuring the portfolio of the company. From 2004 to 2009 she was accountable for the portfolio decisions and business evaluations in the Petrobras International Area. The portfolio had projects in twenty seven countries and throughout the hydrocarbon chain: upstream, downstream, gas and energy. She is Alumni of the Harvard Business School and has studied Industrial Engineering in the Public University Gabriel Rene Moreno; has an MBA in Management of International Business in the IBEMEC, Brazil and also did the Leadership Development in Harvard Business School.

Yussef Akly F. specialises in natural gas & value chain, negotiation and project implementation, quality and production methods, strategic planning, corporate finance, management and development of sustainable business. He is an industrial engineer with a master’s in Oil & Natural Gas, as well as several technological specialisations. Yussef has been associated to the energy sector for the past 16 years and has had different positions in the Bolivian Chamber of Hydrocarbons and Energy (CBHE), including its current role as Executive Director. He has also led projects for public policies, alongside government and private sector, to strengthen the hydrocarbons and energy industry in Bolivia. He participates, coordinates and leads different technical working committees at a national level, too. He has promoted important agreements among entities in the national and international energy sector and has activities with the World Bank, IDB, CAF, OLADE and ARPEL. Yussef has participated in the foundation and organisation of professional associations like the Project Management Institute, and the Association of Petroleum Engineers. He has as well developed programmes with IBNORCA (Bolivian Institute for Quality and Normalisation), the International Commerce Chamber Energy Committee, Departmental Council for Competitiveness, among others. He is member of different boards of the private sector and national corporations.
