National Member Committees work closely with their neighbouring countries to facilitate cross-border partnerships. These regional networks foster an exchange of knowledge and experiences to ensure governments, companies and stakeholders have a neutral forum to plan and engage in the challenges that increasingly need some degree of regional integration or cooperation.
Regional networks also undertake studies and organise events covering priorities for that part of the world, and to guide policy and technical understanding. They are led by a regional Vice-Chair and supported by a Regional Manager.
The World Energy Council six regions are as follows:

- Côte d’Ivoire
- Dominican Republic
- Egypt (Arab Rep.)
- eSwatini (Kingd. of)
- Hong Kong
- Korea (Rep. of)
- New Zealand
